The National Young Adult Conference will be held in San Francisco on August 4-6, 2006 at the University of San Francisco (USF). On-Site Registration Only! $20 for Friday; $20 for Sunday; $50 for Saturday (excluding Dinner & Dance. Use the "Promotional Materials" tab above to find USF Map, Confirmation Information, Registration Download, and more. We will begin taking on-site registrations on Friday, August 4 at 6:00pm in the McLaren Center at USF. For Saturday, we begin taking on-site registrations at 8:00am.
Schedule:
- Friday night: Reception, Social and Keynote by Rev. Dave Dwyer, CSP "Young Adults Living in the Light" 10th Anniversary Reflection on the US Bishops' pastoral document (wine & cheese reception included).
- Saturday: Keynote by Dr. Eleanor Ann Brownell "Take Me As I Am", Two workshops, Lunch, Outdoors Stations of the Cross, Liturgy with Archbishop of San Francisco, Most Rev. George Niederauer, Dinner & Dance (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
- Sunday morning: Keynote by John Allen, Jr. "Making Sense of the Vatican", Group Process and Sending Forth (breakfast included).

Registration available on site at USF in the McLaren for Friday beginning at 6pm for $20; Saturday beginning at 8am for $50 (not including dinner); Sunday beginning at 9am for $20.
Below is information for the weekend:
PARKING
Parking is available in the Koret Parking Lot off of Turk Street between Parker and Stanyan. For a campus map please go to http://www.usfca.edu/online/gen_info/map_c.html. Parking is free on Friday and Saturday in the Koret Parking Lot.
DORM ROOMS
If you will be staying at USF, please check into Phelan Hall located in the McLaren Center Building. You may check-in at the top of the stairs to the left when entering the building near the bookstore in Phelan Hall or down the hall when entering near the University Center in McLaren. Dorm rooms are no longer available if you have not already reserved one.
FRIDAY MISSION DISTRICT TOUR
If you will be joining us for the pre-conference tour of the Historic Mission District, please meet the bus at Parker and McAllister at 11:45am by St. Ignatius Church. You may check-in earlier and receive your program and name badge in the McLaren Center.
WEATHER
The weather in San Francisco is cool in the summer. We experienced the heat wave like the rest of the United States but the fog is back with us. Please come prepare to dress in layers. We will be walking a few miles for the Outdoor Stations of the Cross on Saturday afternoon, so please bring comfortable shoes.
ARRIVING BY AIR & PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
If you are arriving to the Bay area by airplane (either into Oakland or San Francisco International Airports), you can take the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), taxi, or other forms of transportation to the University of San Francisco McLaren Conference Center on the Main Campus. Log onto http://transit.511.org/tripplanner/ to get the recommended route to the University of San Francisco at 2130 Fulton Street in San Francisco. Please note that from the Oakland airport, there is an AirBART shuttle you would need to take from the airport to the BART line. From both airports, you will exit at BART Embarcadero or Montgomery Stations and take MUNI bus #31 Balboa to Turk Street and Parker Ave. You can walk very easily to the USF Campus and to the McLaren Center. Please see the USF website for a campus map, www.usfca.edu. This process takes about an hour and half. You can also directly access the BART web page at www.bart.gov or the University's web page at www.usfca.edu.

- Credit card payment is no longer available. You may pay by check or cash on site at USF:
- By check and in the mail, print the registration form and use the detailed information in the workshops section above.
Costs:
- Updated Pricing Options - $20 Friday night only; $20 Sunday morning only; $50 Saturday workshops excluding dinner and dance. $50 for dinner and dance only (subject to availability).
These options are available until July 21. $140 for the weekend excluding dormatory costs. $90 for conference excluding Saturday night dinner and dance until August 5.
Housing:
- Housing will be provided through the University of San Francisco in their dormitories. Housing no longer available unless you have already paid.
- Single Occupancy Dorm Room is $50 per night.
- Double Occupancy Dorm Room is $77 per night. If you are sharing a room, only one person pays for the full cost. Please include your roommates' name in the registration form.
- Please indicate your preference on the registration form.
- Participants may arrive as early as Thursday evening and stay Sunday evening as well.
Flights to San Francisco:
- The San Francisco Bay Area is served by two airports. Oakland International Airport serves Southwest Airlines among others. San Francisco International Airport (SFO) serves all airlines except Southwest Airlines.
- Both airports are accessible by public transportation to the University by BART and MUNI.

Pre & Post Conference Events:
- Historic Mission District Tour - FULL: Friday, August 4 at 12:00pm to 4:00pm. Only $30 (transportation included). Mission Dolores Basilica has visited by Pope John Paul II in 1987 and the Mission is the oldest building in the City. You will have two professional docents and as well as a chance to explore on your own. Limited capacity. Deadline July 21. For more information click on workshops.
- SF Giants Baseball Game - Some tickets left: Sunday, August 6 at 12:00pm. $40. We will take public transportation to the beautiful downtown ballpark by the Bay for the 1:05pm game against the Colorado Rockies at AT&T Park for great lower box seating right at 3rd base.
- Sonoma Valley Wine - FULLTour: Sunday, August 6 at 12:00pm. $50. Sonoma Valley is world-renowned for its wine making. We will leave USF on a chartered bus for Sebastiani Winery in Sonoma for a private tour and wine tasting with a return trip arriving at USF by 6pm. Lunch and transportation included. Deadline July 21.
Our theme is Take Me As I Am/Aceptame Como Soy. We will not be having a Spanish track but many of our speakers are bi-lingual and we will have culturally sensitive prayers, liturgies, keynotes and workshops.
