Title St. Agnes Spiritual Life Center: Celebrating Priesthood
Description Pope Benedict has invited the Church to celebrate a "Year for Priests" so that "the priest's role and mission in the Church and in contemporary society be ever more clearly perceived". To participate in this celebration our very own transitional deacon Rev. Mr. Anthony Borrow, S.J. will be presenting a three part series on priesthood. The series will prayerfully explore the role of priest throughout Church history leading up to the contemporary context. Questions to be explored include: What is a priest? What does a priest do? What are the characteristics of good priests? What do parishioners expect of a priest? The series will be a dialogue through which together we explore what it means to be a priest and how to celebrate the gift of priesthood to the Church. Whether you are curious to learn more about priests, considering a vocation, or want to explore ideas about how to help priests be better priests, please join us in celebrating priesthood. Rev. Mr. Anthony Borrow, S.J. is a New Orleans Province Jesuit studying theology at the Jesuit School of Theology. Anthony has a Masters in Counseling from Saint Louis University and wrote about his experience of ministering to Honduran gang members in "Teen Gangs: A Global Perspective". Anthony has been helped out at St. Agnes participating in the St. Agnes Book Club, RCIA, and directing 19th Annotation Retreats of the Spiritual Exercises.
